Monday morning, I will find myself targeting shallow, early season walleye areas on local lakes, or if I’m lucky, on the St Louis River. Early season if my absolute favorite time to fish shallow as the fish are aggressive, and ready to eat! Oxygen levels are great, food is abundant, and noise levels are low, which is winning combination in anyone’s book. 3 to 12 feet of water, early and late in the day will prove to put fish on the ice, I can guarantee you that! The gear is ready to go, batteries are charged, gas is in the 4 stroke Strikemaster all that needs to pass is 118 hours. What will you be doing to put walleyes on the ice in the coming week?
