I was recently given a jiffy model 50 lite. Runs like a top but the auger or drill needs to be replaced before it is used. The problem lies with finding a replacement auger that fits this right hand or clockwise rotation, Jiffy no longer makes those to my knowledge anybody have a contact or know of somewhere where this type of auger can be found? Any help is appreciated thanks.

Did you try a metal fabricator ? maybe they can fix your old one..

Strike master makes clockwise auger bits. Perhaps you can get your hands on an old MAG that does not run. You would have to check the stub dia. on the jiffy.

Im not sure if there was a size diff but I use SM extensions in mu jiffy. The only diff now is the pin size which is a simple bore out on the SM to match a larger jiffy pin.

What is wrong with the current bit?

You can just pull the lower gear case assembly and remove main gear and shaft assembly and have the shaft turned down to the Dia. of a Strikemaster bit

Thanks guys that helps a lot, I will definitely look into getting a strikemaster auger. I should be able to take care of that in a heartbeat.

So the question is now has anybody directly attached a SM auger to a jiffy?

Are you sure that this is an auger from Jiffy? jiffy has always had their rotation go counter clockwise. this has been since day one so if yours is going clockwise, I doubt it is a Jiffy.

No it is most definitely a jiffy, made in 1988 for only one year, I called jiffy myself and made sure.
