For my inaugural post here, I’ll post that I am not ice fishing just yet, but I did insulate the Yukon in the garage while drinking a cold beverage and listening to Joe Bonamassa on the computer. At the same time the cold front blew threw the area. It was a good day with good food, good drink, and good cold weather moving in. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Sounds like a great project. How did you insulate your shack? Do you have pics?

Got a roll of Reflectix from Menard’s last year, and had already insulated my one man Fishtrap, and had plenty left over to do the Yukon. No pics yet. May post some up later. I had to cut a strip from the roll to add to the main sheet for the Yukon. The big roll of Reflectix is 48 in., and the Yukon is wider than that. Used the aluminum tape on both houses for taping the seams, anchoring the the insulation to the sled, etc. Worked out ok, not super pretty, but got it done. Should hold in some heat while on the ice.

Yep, had the ‘The Ballad of John Henry’, from the Royal Albert Hall CD, cranked when I was workin’ on the house. Can’t wait to see Joe and his band, next April, at the State Theater.
