Carrying an LX7

I walk to most of my ice fishing spots with a bucket filled with rods & gear and a hand auger with a drill. Since the LX7 doesn’t fit in the 6 gallon bucket, how do I safely transport it?

Buy yourself a small sled. Won’t have to carry anything.

I love my small sled. I throw 2 flashers and enough gear and snacks to keep myself and three kids happy in it. I takes little to no effort to pull it. It also fits into a small car with half the rear seat folded down.

When I used to hike or trek long distance to get to that secret ice fishing hole I would put my rods, tackle and all the other things I needed in a back pack. That kept my hands free for carrying gear like augers and flashers

I would also think you are going to want to switch to a small sled. If you don’t like that idea you might be able to make some sort of strap from a rod case or something similar to throw over your shoulder.

Put a sling on the auger and carry that over your shoulder. This might free a hand for the flasher. A rifle sling or even a good bunge cord should work for a sling. Used to carry my gas auger this way all the time. Should be plenty strong for a hand auger.

The little sleds made today work slick for getting stuff out on the ice.

Yep. For a guy that used to do a lot of walking to spots on the ice this was a very nice addition. The Glide-lite and a auger sling and my hands where free while walking out.

Build yourself a smitty sled. Google it if you dont know what it is. You can build a small one with removable skis so it will fit in a car trunk then put together in a minute or so.

a plastic kiddy sled works great, but maybe you need to think inside the box…..

contact a few restaraunts in your area, see if they have any of these from their food products they would give you when they are empty, or if they would sell you them…

I have about 20 of those in the garage. 9.25″ across. Pretty sure the LX7 will not fit.
