However they are a little smaller than I thought that they would be. I may have to get a few bigger ones.

    I cannot disclose that.

Ok, I got them from WatersEdge out of Janesville.

Just a heads up. I get confused with the size numbers and the higher the number, the smaller the jig.

Just eyeballing them here at work and knowing what I ordered, I believe the red is #12, yellow #16 and green #14.

Very nice I like to use the ice flys often through out the hard water season when I am out hunting shallow water trout.

I absolutely love fishing ice flies, I remember 7-8 years ago I was having one heck of a time getting the right style/patten tied. I Just couldn’t get fresh water shrimp shape/color right, not being the best fly tying guy I called a buddy (Adam Forsythe AKA Big Nasty) two weeks later I had two dozen perfect shrimp ready to start the Bull Gill extraction process. I for one am tickled to see over the counter options now available…I think we are going to see this style of ice jig really come into it’s own realm very, very shortly. It’s been a main stay in my Gill and Crappie box for almost a decade..not having to “birddog” them up wil be nice.

I got them because I am banking on the broken silhouette being more appealing to bigger, smarter gills. Can’t wait to start that experiment.

Ice flies can be very fun and effective as others have stated. I first started tying them in hopes of sight fishing Loopers and Coho on Lake Superior, but use them for a number of different species. I think you will have fun with them!
