Gulp For Tip Ups?

Bought a whole box of ice fishing stuff yesterday and in it were 7 tip ups. 1 Beaver Dam, 2 First Ice Wooden, 2 HT Arctic Fire and 2 other cheap plastic ones. I’ve never used tip ups myself but have watched a lot of guys use them. What I am wondering is would any of the Gulp baits work with them? I know minnows are best but hate to go to the bait shop all the time just to get minnows as most are out of my way where I ice fish.

I’m not one to throw around “never, ever” when it comes to talking about methods for catching fish but I will go out on a limb and throw my vote to fishing a shiner or 5″ sucker under that tip up versus Gulp. I just don’t see you having any consistent success without the minnows, sorry.
