What should I expect?

As I posted earlier, I sold my FL20 and ordered a LX7 which should be here this week. Anybody else ever crossed over to the darkside (lol) that can give me some details on what differences to expect? I have been told it’s a new unit and has the 2.9 software update so I should be good there. I have never even touched a Marcum product before.

When I made the switch 9 years ago, the best way I learned was to get on the ice and use it….well that is obviously tough now, press buttons so you get familiar with them. Ask questions if you have any, once on the ice you will quickly find the settings that you like. I encourage you to read the owners manual now when unit arives.

    Congrats.

Make sure you make use of the simulator mode to familiarize yourself with the different screen options and settings available. Using the sim mode is one the best ways to cut the learning curve down given the absence of ice. If any particular questions pop up after you’ve kicked the tires in the sim mode, fire away here. I’m sure you’ll get the info you need.

Target adjust vs adjusting sensitivity is a good one to familiarize yourself with, you now have total control over target size without cranking up the gain.. an awesome feature for panfish or any mico jig fishing situation.
