    Too funny!

Looks like they took my last years reported issues to heart.
    (sun shade)

Doesn’t look like they did anything for the snow storm effect in low light/deep water levels though.

I think for the price, you really can’t beat the portability and quality for it’s size. You can’t expect too much at such a great price!!!

I used mine all last year and it compared with the lower end Marcum cameras my buddies were using. Heck, we even fished the same waters side by side and really, beside the screen size it wasn’t a noticeable difference.

The big selling point on these is obviously the portability, really, it’s unmatched!

Check out the point and shoot camera charger on the wall (it’s the black square on the left side of both screens).

The wall charger is less than three feet away from both cameras. I’m not sure how big of a fish it would have to be to be seen much further away than that?

For $399.00 personally I would expect more then portability.

Wasn’t the snow storm problem because you couldn’t turn the lights off? Looks like they added on/off for the lights this year.

No, the older model has an on/off switch too.

The problem with all cameras is when the light is needed it’s dark. The light hits particles in the water and reflects back to the camera. Looks like a snow storm and the camera get’s put away until daylight or used in shallower water.

Granted most cameras won’t get used in 50/60 fow like I use mine but the same thing happens when a camera is in 20/30 fow.

Keep in mind the micro is made for portability.

The first Gen. Aqua Vu Micro’s did not have the ability to turn off the IR. The new one coming out does.

Info from Ganders website – http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Aqua-Vu-AV-Micro-Plus-Underwater-Camera-System&i=694300&aID=504C7&merchID=4006

Price seems really high considering what Marcum offers for the same price if not cheaper now… The built-in DVR feature is nice, but it adds another $100…yikes…

Does Marcum now have a micro camera? I did not see that anywhere. I will have to check there website again.

    Welcome back WALLEYE444!

Doesn’t really matter if there is or isn’t an on/off switch. At 30 feet there isn’t any light anyway. Might as well be on showing the snow storm and that it’s working.

Nope. Marcum will not have a micro camera until they (R&D) can do it right.

How’s the image quality when transferring the video from the DVR to a computer? Just wonderun.

Oh okay.. From that other poster I thought they had one out. I have not tried the new model. I have the first gen. one. The new one appears to have some nice add on features. Have you tested it out yet? Wondering how it does compare to the first gen.

My point was that at $399 & $499 with built-in DVR, you might as well get a Marcum color unit, I sure love my 625 SD and it’s totally small enough to be portable. The price point is hard to understand, especially with last years model being $299 but mostly selling for $250 online…
