About to place an order of some b3 blades and slender spoons for some eyes this ice season, and I am wondering if 1/4 oz are good for perch as well, or would you drop it down to 1/8 oz? any color preferences for perch?

For perch I prefer the smallest size, I think its a 1/16th? but I have had them take an 1/8th when mixed in with walleyes

I would definately go with something smaller than 1/4 oz. I caught them on 1/8 oz last year on lake of the woods along with numerous walleyes. I’ve never fished the 1/16 oz however.

Thanks. I added a couple 1/8’s & 1/16’s to the cause I usually use fiska tungsten jigs, but the flash of a spoon should work wonders as well, even if its just to draw them in and let them hit on the dead stick.

I have out fished my partners every time with the Weasel and it is a Minnesota company. Can’t go wrong, might as well order a few and try them out.

The 1/8th oz slender spoon is really a good perch and walleye spoon all in one. For instance fishing Mille Lacs, you can leave a 1/8th oz slender on and catch plenty of perch and walleyes. The 1/16th oz spoon is a panfish killer, crappies and sunfish alike.

The 1/4oz is a perfect lake trout spoon as its very big (2.25″) in size gives off a ton of flash to draw the lakers in. I have never needed that big of spoon for walleyes, I am sure it will work just fine as well.

Get a variety of colors, gold/glow, silver/blue, gold/hot green, silver/glow. Those are my 4 go to colors for anybody of water.

thanks. with the slender spoons, i went with 2 colors, gold/glow & silver/glow, in 1/16, 1/8, and 1/4. I figure if I need to doctor the colors, i can color over the glow if needed till I can order different ones…..

I think you did well with your purchase. It’s never a bad idea to get some of the larger sizes, mostly based on how deep you’re fishing. I’ve experimented with after-market, or simple floro droppers to use on the larger spoons as well. Gets you deeper, faster, and less intimidating if they’re not hot for it.

I ordered the B3 blades as well since they are sister companies, in 1/4oz, gold plated & pink/glow & perch. figured I would save on shipping that way

I hammered them on these last winter. They performed a lot better than SP side by side at least a couple times. Walleyes too. I heard about them online someplace last winter. The guy that sells them told me some crazy stories that I took with a grain of salt but dang if some some of them didnt come true for me! I dont have enough time behind them to say much more but I cant wait to try them again this winter.
