Couple Marcum LX-7 Questions

I just got my LX-7 which I ordered from S Guide. I had to do the 2.9 update, which I thought being that they have been out for awhile I would not have to do. Then when I went to charge the battery I noticed it came with a 7.2amp battery instead of the 9amp like it says it should have according to the box. Wondering if they ever came with a 7.2amp or did I get one that maybe someone returned after taking the 9amp battery? Also I have had it on the charger since Saturday at 8am and it is still showing red. Is that normal for it to take that long? Any help would be appreciated as I am calling Marcum CS on monday.

mine is the same way, it doesn’t change color, it just slows to trickle charge and barely charges without over-charging. unplug from the charger, never leave the charger plugged in but not into the wall, because that led will drain your battery. also, power up the unit with it unplugged and check your voltage, you should be good to go.

Well I called sportsmans guide and they are sending me a prepaid shipping label. Anyone else have trouble doing the update on computer with windows 7? When I tried it just kept beeping and never went to the steady tone. I had to do it at work.
