Marcum LX-5 offers?

    James, Are you aware of any plans to discount or offer a special promotion for the LX-5 this season? It appears Marcum’s direction is to go purely digital with the release of the LX-6 and LX-9.

    I bought an ICE55 last season and wasn’t pleased with it so I am strongly considering an LX-5 for this season.

    I’m not aware of any plans at the manufacturer’s level to deeply discount the LX-5 from the current price. Retailers will have their own promotions and you can usually save some decent money on ice electronics at the St. Paul Ice show if that event is one you plan to attend.

    There should be a lot of used ones coming on the market! I love my VX-1 and I’m thinking about an LX-3TC or an LX-5.

    James is there a difference between the VX-1 and the VX-1P?

    The VX-1P has a soft pack like the Lx-3 and Lx-5.

    Some do. My VX-1Pro came with the gray non-soft pack. I’m thinking about ordering the soft pack for it though.

    There were two versions of the VX-1P sold. One with a gray pack and a 7ah battery, and one with a red soft pack and a 9ah battery.

    As others have pointed out, the Pro has more power and a better soft pack.

    Thanks for the info James. I was at the St. Paul show last year and scored a bunch of deals so I plan on attending again this year.
