If you fish 90% of the time alone would you get the cabin or the lodge? I also have to load it in a 2500 Duramax. In South Dakota we can fish 4 lines.

I would suggest the Cabin if your loading by yourself 90% of the time evenmoreso if you have to pull by hand.

I have the cabin and do a lot of fishing by myself. I would not go bigger, it is a nice roomy one man but alot of work to pull with a auger and fishing gear inside. I was thinking about down sizing to a 1 man my self.

I also have the den and its a awesome one man and much lighter and easier to pull than my cabin.

I have the lodge fish alone a lot I’ve found its not that hard to load alone a single 2×6 ramp works nice too I like the extra room y

About the only advantages I would see with a Lodge is 1) if you’re a taller guy like me, it would be nice to be able to stand up without stooping, and 2) if you bring other folks along fishing with you the extra room would be nice. Not that two folks can’t fish out of the Cabin but when you’re used to one, the ample space that you’ve come to enjoy shrinks quickly with two.

Cabin is huge for one person. I would not go bigger. The Cabin is heavy enough to pull around by yourself as it is.

Thanks for all the advice. I use the atv to pull it once we have enough ice, but I am worried about loading the house in the truck. The cost is not much more to get the lodge but it sounds like I would be better of getting the cabin.

I just replaced my Eskimo Quick Flip 2 (60″) with the
Otter Wild Thermo Cabin (64″),plenty of room for 2 people.

I would go cabin! I fish out of a cabin by myself the majority of the time and would not want to go any bigger. And there is still plenty of room for all the gear i have!

I have the Ice Lodge and can load myself with no issues, I use 2 – 2×6 loading ramps and just push it up.

I have an otter cabin, and it gets used exclusively for 2 people. It would be PLENTY big for 1 guy… any bigger and it would be cumbersome to handle alone.

Much of what has been said, the cabin is great for the solo missions and if you are pulling it out w/out a machine and has pleanty of fishable room. The Lodge is also grand as well just wouldent want to drag it and lift it by myself.
