I’ve always been extremely resistant to change and I’m probably the last person to embrace new technology. When I went to get a new phone this past winter, the sales person asked me what I wanted to be able to do with my phone. I replied “talk to people.” She just couldn’t comprehend that a person my age didn’t want a phone that played music, got internet, had gps, does your dishes, etc. I don’t need an iphone, ipad, i-anything.
I love what Marcum is doing to advance the cause, but to be honest, those kind of technological leaps and bounds turn me off. Part of it is the unknown factor-that my caveman brain might not be able to figure it out. The other part is that what is the latest and greatest this year will be old potatoes in a year or two.
That said, I don’t think my Vex is going to go anywhere for a while. I’m comfortable using it and it does what I need it to do. When (if) the Vex ever poops the bed, I’ll have to look around but the simpler, less complicated item is always going to be my first choice.
