Well, the circle is nearly complete for Rapala, with their agreement with Otter.

So Rapala owns (for lack of a better term), Strikemaster, Otter, MarCum and a few other brands. Stikemaster’s office on Hwy 10 looks boarded up. I wonder what will happen at Otter (my guess would be business as usual manufacturing-wise).

It will now be the Rapala Ice Force team vs. Ice team for the battle of retail distribution and marketing wars. I believe IDO Outdoors has partnerships with Otter, MarCum and Strikemaster – I wonder how that relationship will hold up? Same goes for pro-staff.

I’d rather see a bunch of independent companies in the industry, but it was only a matter of time before “marketing and distribution partnerships” took over. Too much money to be made in a niche market.

I think IDO relationship with the MarCum, Otter, Strikemaster and Rapala is very strong. I think these companies look at the online presence of IDO as a great resource to the ice fishing/open water community. IDO has a bunch of good men/women who enjoy fishing and helping others put on a smile while fishing.

No. The working relationship between the brands does not and will not change where the product is made. If it is made in the US it will continue to be made in the US.

IDO’s relationships with these brands is and will continue to be very, very strong for years to come. We’ve been committed to working only with brands we feel represent the very best products available and now all those brands are working together. Suffice it to say… the future is bright.
