Well, here it is. Bash away if you’d like. I do not know the guy in the photo or where the photo came from other than a short chain email. I’m sorry if someone already posted it and I didn’t see it. Let us know if this fish has been confirmed.

Here is the text from the email:

Giant Mille Lacs walleye caught this past week!! The fish was officially measured by the DNR at 33.75″ and weighed almost 14 pounds!! One of the biggest Mille Lacs fish on record!! Awesome catch!!

Not sure why anyone would bash this… nice fish. Congrats to the lucky angler.

James, the only reason I say that is because I don’t know the source and the accuracy. Definetly a big fish either way!

I would love to hear the story. Last weekend I saw a picture of another walleye that was caught and realeased on Mille Lacs and also weighed in at 14 lbs. The picture was of a different person, but maybe the same fish?

I saw the same thing last week. It isn’t from Mille but bay of Quinte, regardless that is a tank!

I suspected that much. Now for the text in the email, why do they have to lie? I have lost all credibility for this catch.

Now I’m sure that the fisherman wasn’t lying, and I’d feel sorry for him if someone he didn’t know is lying about it.

This very same photo was sent to me on my phone. It was caught last Wed. I have no reason to believe it is one of those “fish stories.” I also talked to someone at Hunter’s Point last weekend who confirmed the catch. In any case, my goodness, WOW!!!

    Nice pic.
Agate bay resort’s website talked about a huge walleye caught out of there place a couple weeks ago.

I had heard about this last weekend while I was sitting in the shack on Mille Lacs… So I had a little time to research it. Now, I can’t say for sure that fish isn’t from Mille but I saw the story posted on Vexilar’s FB page and according to comments the angler was Brandon Oulette from Hardwater Specialists, Bay De Quinte ON. A quick google search found the following:

    http://www.quintehardwaterspecialists.com/gallery.htm

Notice the pics of him wearing the same bibs and sweatshirt in their photo gallery. Looks like someone pulled a fast one on Vexilar as the posting was removed the next day.

Nice fish Brandon whereever you caught it

That’s good. Now I can rest assured that it’s real, but it wasn’t caught on Mille Lacs. Some really nice fish up there!
