Well I met up with Dan and his son Daniel for a weekend of fishing. We went out of Denny’s on the south end and traveled up the east side past Moxey. We met up with brother-in-law Mike and Sonia as well as Calvin and Carolyn. First set up was on a break line in about 24′. Fishing was slower than any other weekend I have been up there. Our house put 8 walleyes in the bucket along with a hand full of perch. Glow pink/red rattle jigs worked but the walleyes wanted a plain hook with a minnow. The other houses managed a few perch, enough for a fish fry for them.
Saturday morning we decided to move to a new location farther down the east shore. We set up again on a break line but this time I set up in about 27′. The perch were few and far between. I did send Dan home with 7 walleyes and a few perch. Not the best fishing but the company was great.
I spoke to my son-in-law who was on the lake Saturday. He said they put in on the north shore and fished several main lake humps and only managed to get two good perch. They talked to several other anglers who were also reporting pour fishing. All in all, we had a better outcome than most others.

looks like it might be time to head shallow. It seems like since the ice was a few weeks behind, so is the mid January blues. They got to be biting somewhere, I hope!

Yes it was a tough bite this past weekend. However we did catch 14 or 15 walleyes and kept 11. They were not big but good eater size. (12-14″) We ate four with perch Saturday night and I sent 7 home with Dan.
What lures did you guys find worked the best? (Make and color)
