With ice fishing about to be over I been going as much as I can. Hannah and I went to Hickory grove yesterday. Ice was a little dark and no one there, well after light. Went down on the ice with the auger and drilled my way out. Had 8 inches of decent ice so I figured we would be all right. Had to fish in a littler shallower than last time to catch fish but managed a good meal of 7.5 to 9 inch gills. Hannah had the biggest one but for once I had the most. For those who do not know, Hannah always out fishes me. Right Herb!! This time I got the most so I figure I have her on the ropes.
Today we went with a friend to a farm pond. 6 inches of ice so I drill some holes. Caught some very nice gills and Hannah and I are running neck and neck on the amount and size. Then it happens again. The old blonde girl luck. She pulls out two crappies in short order, both over 14 inches!! Beat down again. I think I will be happy when the ice melts. Maybe I can best her in the boat All kidding aside I love that fact she likes to fish with us old guys and we have a ton of fun. Herb, I know what you are going to say, but I know you’re going to say it anyway.
