Sure looks like it to me. Saw a dozen or so last week on P4. Was that from recently?

I agree and I have to say it I love my Marcum camera. Only problem I spend more time watching than fishing.

I’m thinking this is a gear someone used for an anchor, but just a guess.

Now Stu, who in their right mind would change a tire in the middle of a river?

Definetly a Gizzard Shad, ran into a couple around 2 lbs a couple years ago.

That water temp correct, at that rate the spring bite will be over by the end of Febuary, or at least mid March.

I agree could be a mondo shad, its back does seem to be quite humped compared to the pic of the MoonEye. Side note I saw 3 quill back carp last week near the dam. Gottta love the river, never know!

Afraid so Tom. That was Sunday. Not sure if it was before or after the power plant shut down.

I also agree that it is a large Gizzard Shad. At the spillway on pool 6 last week I snagged two that were easily over 16″ long. They get very large, you just rarely see those individuals, as they seem to spend their adult life in very deep water, and though they are considered omnivores I believe, they tend to be more synonymous with benthivores and would would be unlikely to take most of the offerings that we would happen to be using in the kinds of depths and current that they seem to like to inhabit.
