3 hour battle

    Went out fishing perch with my 18 inch ultralight with 4lb test and got a nice high mark and reeled up to it and wham it was on from 9:30 to 12:34 i battled this 32 inch 13 lb steelhead what a battle it was i had 15 guys watching the last fifteen minutes what a great day

    Dude that is freakin’ unreal, 3 hours. That will stick with you forever. Im sure it was an emotional roller coaster.

    Actually I would have purposely busted the line. Have done it before. I personally have no desire to use up that much fishing time for a fish I know I wont keep. I can think of two instances where I tried to break the line but it wouldnt. Ended up landing a big flathead and a sturgeon. Sounds odd I know but we all think differently.

    The lake I caught the fish on is connected to lake Michigan so i knew there were many possibilities of what it was. the area i was fishing in is more of a pike spot so i assumed i had a nice pike on but after the hour and a half mark i had an idea as to what was on the end. i didn’t get the fish to the hole until 15 minutes before i landed it. oh and it was mono not braid my buddy probably scooped the hole out for me 30 times. thanks for all the comments. and yes i did think about cutting the line at one point but after battling it for all that time i just wanted to know what the heck it was thanks for all the posts
