The Madison chain has been a pain this year. First no ice for weeks and then no bites the 5 times I’ve been out have been frustrating. After a couple of hard weeks at work I treated myself to a Friday off and the fish were hungry. You know it is going to be a good day when your deadstick which is the first rod I put in got hit half way down with a nice crapppie. Everything I used caught fish. A rare day indeed for here.

That is a nice looking bunch of fish Kevin. I got out yesterday and had a nice mixture of crappie and blue gill.
The ice fishing season is going to be short if the weather stays this warm. There was 9 inches of ice on the Miss. backwaters yesterday, but it is getting soft around the shorelines already.
