Fixing a hole in your tent

While fishing last Saturday the wind blew the front of my Yukon up and over. My sunflower heater burned a 2 inch hole in the tent. How do I patch such a hole? Or, would it be better to purchase a new tent?

    Thanks,
    Mike

I guess I can’t speak for Yukon, but a similar thing happened to my Otter a couple years back. Otter sells a canvas patch kit…and I just stitched a patch over it. Good as new!

I’d think something similar might be available for yours??

Fabric glue works pretty good to if you are not into sewing

My Clam had a few holes from a mouse. I purchased the Clam patch kit and used the 3M adhesive spray they recommended. It worked great.

Old pair of denim jeans worked on my Clam real well. Mice chewed mine up. HAd to replace the zipper too. My FW just loves it when I give her projects..

I patched up my burn hole with an iron on patch from Wal Mart. one on each side of the hole and I have been good for the last 3 years. Will try not to make that mistake again. I was less than an inch from my zipper and that would have meant a new shack

I also used the kit and the 3m adhesive. Put a batch on both sides for good measure.

Duct tape works for a temporary fix. Mouse ate a hole in mine two summers ago. I used duct tape on both sides until I had a chance to get a patch. Duct tape is still there.

Tape Brothers have some tent repair tape I used on a Hideout. I put on both inside and out. The tape sticks to itself where the hole is and worked good.

People have asked me why I spend so much time on the IDO web site. I have to explain to them that there are thousands of ice fisherman (and women) who are there to help each other.

Again, thank you for all your ideas.
