I have never heard of such a law. I have always hooked mine directly to the sled or atv.

I also have never heard anything. Are you talking on a state trail or something? I can tell you from experience, towing a portable with a rope is a bad idea.

not sure there is a law about that, but if you’re doing something so sketchy you think you may be breaking the law, you might want to rethink your operation…

A buddy of mine said there was some goofy law that you had to have to have a “Tow Bar” meaning its not just rope tied to the sled and snowmobile……He also said you can make a legal tow bar by just putting the tow rope through PVC…..I get the idea of having the PVC vs. soft rope and how it WOULD BE a bad idea to use just rope…….

Some areas require a rigid hitch type connection between the tow vehicle and sled being towed. MN isn’t one of them although I’ve seen some good equipment turned into small pieces when the rope got tangled in knobby tires at speed.

Excellent! Althogh I will still be making some sort of PVC type tow bar!

    Thanks!

Technically you need I think 16″ inches of reflector on both sides and back. I just put DOT red/white reflector tape on mine, but I think one of my shacks had some fall off. You only need rigid tow bar if you have people in the shack/sled/tub.
