in the QC the weather lucks ugly for the beginning of the week. mon, tues, and wedn don’t get below freezing and we are still on 4-6″ of ice here. there may be a few fishable areas, but for the most part, mine will be bad.
a few things that i think are the most memorable of my season this year which while small, has been probably one of the best seasons we’ve had.
1. sinking our own brush on a local public spot paid off and we were treated to numerous 13+” crappie and a 15″. many 11’s and 12’s just overall a great spot. it got found out and fished often over the past week but i don’t think well. i went back 3 times and caught and released limits of fish while guys sitting in holes 5 ft away just watched.
we took a trip earlier to the faribult area and did our first perch/walleye fishing ever and we had a blast and had a day of bonus big crappie while up there.
we stumbled upon a big gill spot that most locals would never suspect held them, based off the fact that the only holes drilled there the entire week were ours and only 1 or 2 others.
all in all it was a good season. all of our fishing was done on public waters and our results were that of private pond fishing. i have big plans on sinking more brush creating more spots on our favorite body of water. hopefully mother nature will cooperate next year and continue our luck.
