I would contact whom ever you purchased it through. Did you get it directly from them, online retailer, bait shop, box store, ebay….?

we purchased a LX7 just after the new year and since then we have experienced a number of issues with it. The depth chart in the middle of the flasher screen switches off and on to 44 ft no matter what depth we are fishing at. The unit loses power and shuts down. The screen flashes on and off. It powers down for no reason with full charge! I am calling Marcum tomorrow and see what we are to do to get another unit. I have always had vexilar units and I hate to say it but I wish we would have went with a FL-22!

I believe they actually have an update for the LX-7… might want to contact MarCum about that. Heard some problems with the stock LX-7 software, but used a updated LX-7 this passed weekend, and worked without a hitch!

I had an issue with my first one turning off on me. I contacted Marcum on a Monday about it and on Wednesday morning I had a new unit on my desk with a return label to send the old one back no charge. The new one has worked flawless. Contact them and they will take care of you.

As for the original post. Go to where you bought it and have them exchange it. If they won’t, contact Marcum.

Marcum will be coming out with V3 of their software for the LX-7 very soon. This update really makes the unit what it should of been originally, I saw an original one with V1 of the software and one with the V3 last weekend. What a difference, like night and day!!!!

Check the battery terminal connectors, they are not the best design and seem to come loose very easy, this could be the shut down reason. All you need to do is squeeze them with a pliers so they fit tighter or replace them with a tighter fitting set.

Marcum will make it right for you!!!
