Hey guys, I picked up some of the Custom Jigs Slender spoons in various sizes and I was wondering if you tie your line right to the little hole in the spoon or do you use the snap that comes with the lure. Does either way affect the action differently? Thanks, Bob

I use the snap. They make it easier to swap out baits when looking for that one color to get the fish going. I’ve yet to have one fail on me.

Snap for quick change out and I also heard the snap gives more action to the spoon.

Snap gives the spoon more flutter than a direct line tie.

Yep use the Snaps. James him self told me that one. The Slender Spoons usually come with a small snap that you should use with them. I use them on all of my spoons now.

I was just wondering why they don’t come attached. I suppose it is faster to package them that way.

Being I have one rod designated to just jigging spoons I’m glad they do not come attached. I tie one onto my line and keep the others as spares. I use the same snap with the Lightning Spoons and the Demon Jigging Spoons after removing the O ring.
They provide a lot more action to Spoons over directly tieing them on.

I do the same with my spoon rod

do you find you fair better when you remove the split ring from the lightning spoons?

I have always ran them right on the slender spoon snap to the split ring

My reason for getting rid of the split ring is to reduce the amount of hardware. I have found the snap provides plenty of action to the other jigging spoons without the need of the split ring.
