Be careful if reading this post-ice changes daily out there-not worth taking a swim-

Drove by Maiden Rock this morning and I couldn’t belive my eyes there were a half dozen or so vehicles on the ice including full size pickups. I’m having trouble beliveing that there is enough ice for this even with the recent weather change. I realize that the area they were in toward pine creek doesn’t have much if any current but can there realy be that much ice?

talked to a buddy that pulled his house out there Thursday–straight out from Maiden Rock landing–says 10″ of ice–but said big ice heave out to north and out by channel

Ya your right and it’s because thats where the open water was and when it froze the winds blew, it and loosened it up and jammed the ice up in that area, there is some ice there now but it’s not like the good ice away from the flow
