So I’m looking to add to my ice arsenal. I’m need something for running and gunning during tourney’s as well as something that will work inside my hub style Clam.

I’ve narrowed it down to two right now.

The smaller, less expensive and very versatile Strikemaster Glide-Lite.

Or, the little big bigger, more storage Frabill Recon Shuttle.

What do you folks think? The Frabill is about double the price.

Depends on how much gear you plan on having. If it was me even though the Frabill is almost double the price, its twice the unit.

Think it would be hard to go wrong with either one. I have the strikemaster guide lite and it works well. Great for that warm weather outside all day ice fishing. Now if they would just make a shoulder strap for carrying my auger around it would be a complete package.

I like my Glide-Lite and pick the days it will be used according to weather and the distance I plan on traveling. It pulls easy and holds more than a guy would think. The Glide-Lite has made for some great times while getting out and taking off for a walk about

The Frabill looks sweet also,I just have not had the opportunity to use one. I like having a smaller sled added to my arsenal for the days I don’t feel like lugging the Otter around. Good luck with your purchase!

Thanks guys. I’m really leaning towards the Glide Light. Brett, I like how you made your auger mount.

I like the Glide lite, I pack it right inside my Otter and when I want to hole hop away from my big base camp I can with ease.

I use a simple Otter sport sled (I think it is the small). My auger fits in just fine as well as as much crap as I would want to take for bucket fishing. Easy to store in garage. It was only $25 at FF.

Where do you put your fish, i can see where the panfish would go but what about eyes etc.

The previous owners left me a small sled that works fine for my gear. I used it to move snow before realizing what it was.

They can go in the bucket you put in it. I also have the Ice Well and keep fish in there for the most part.

Well I stopped in and visited with the fine folks at Thorne Bros and picked up a new Glide-Lite. I think this will be best suited for me for what I intend to use it for. Course the bank account got hurt there cause you can never just pick up one thing in the store!!

Thanks Matt for taking the time with me yesterday, always good chatting with you.
