    Guys

i’m trying to think outside the box here so help me out….

i got a $100 check from the In-laws for Xmas and want to spend it on Ice fishing stuff.

I already have pretty much everything i need though…

Portable house, Camera, Vexilar, tackle, Reel weeds, plenty of rods/reels (except for maybe a TB Quiver Stik)

I can only come up with maybe a Marcum Camera panner, or a Quiver stick…

Any ideas cause it’s burning a hole in my pocket and i don’t want to spend it on stupid stuff as i normally will do

You could upgrade your transducer on the Vexilar to one of those fancy tri-beams.

Are you set on lighting for the shack ? Heat ? Tip-ups ? Ice cleats ? I know if I hit the Fishing section at Mills, I’d burn it right quick… Have fun !!!

Go with the Thorne Bros rod. You can never have too any of those. Nice 32″ for outside use maybe?

Anything that helps you be more organized.

As we film and continue to fish all over the place, the one thing I can’t have enough of, buy enough of, or work hard enough at – is organization. That’s a personal type deal however. For me, the Sportsman’s Caddy by Otter was a big help, a soft-sided tackle bag for gloves, hats, bait, forceps, gps, and other small items you always seem to need handy. A screw top insulated water jug for minnows, ratchet straps (can’t have enough of those!), and extra hitch pins also come to mind. Extra marcum batteries are great, so are headlamps which always seem to get misplaced or lost also, AA batteries for those.

For me, the first fishing trip of the year is literally an hour or better of learning where everything is (even though I know I have it with), putting it back where it belongs, and having rods rigged and ready to go with all my go-to lure selections and colors.

I as some other never seem to be able to leave fleet farm for under $100. The lap dance is a good idea unless the gifter wants to see what you bought.

A red Stormy Kromer cap, a Beaver Dam tip-up, and a 12 pak of your favorite brew.

2 of those three will still be in use by your grandkids children ….. long after you a are nothing but a cool memory……

If I had a free 100 and I didnt have a otter rod case that would be the first choice. Then you can tell the wife you only need 90 dollars for the quiver stick to go in it. I always say im going to buy tungsten jigs but I end up complaining about my hard earned money so I dont.

I guess if I felt I had all the gear I needed and a hundred bucks to burn… I’d call a good fishing buddy or two and use the hundo towards gas and bait. I’d hit the best fishing I could find that’s a bit too far to drive normally. I will have the memory of a good day of fishing with friends much longer than any gear that I own.

I know it’s not ice fishing related but I can never have enough Rapala’s. Looks like $100 will get you about 13 of ’em
