I am a huge Thorne Bros. fan and absolutely love the rods they put out!! Not to mention the excellent customer service they have! With that being said “How in the world does a custom rod shop not have rod blanks for the best selling panfish rod on the market (The Noodle). Yeah I hear they sold an estimated 2000 of these at the ice show alone (I think)! Glad it was ordered before the ice show!! Oh well I hope it is worth the wait and I really hope I have it before ice out.. Not hating or bashing thorne bros.. just don’t understand how this happens and I am sure I am not the only one!!

Pretty easy to explain. They didn’t see the demand coming? I am assuming the sales are way up this year.

I’m sure it helps T.B. when you see Holst & Granrud holding one in a video!
They have awesome customer service, rods , & good people promoting!!

I would also blame/attribute it to the ice we have had this year… lot’s of people sticking to shore = panfishing.

The other thing is the supplier of the blanks contracts NASA as well so that company is behind because they are supplying NASA first before Thorne.

What is NASA developing a rod to fish on the moon? I also ordered one from Thorne Bros. in early november. I have to agree on how and why they wouldn’t have a ton of blanks in stock. I ordered one because of the great reviews and hype surrounding this rod. Hopefully I get it before the end of ice season. I just wish they would of sent me an e-mail telling me what the delay was instead of reading it on here.

It’s not just the PowerNoodle’s their behind on either !! I also have a PowerNoodle on order and a Quiverstik !!! Expecting the Quiverstik soon I hope but I’ll have to still be patient on the Noodle for a while. Besides for me down here the only thing froze are the mud puddles !!!!

I am sure they are just as frustrated. I ordered one as a gift for someone on Xmas. When I realized it wouldn’t be ready, I stopped into the store and they showed me DH rods as an alternative. I picked one up and gave it to him instead for Xmas. Today we swapped rods while fishing bluegills and there is very little difference. I have titanium guides, but other than that I couldn’t tell the difference. Each trip out I find myself opting more for the quiverstik than the power noodle though.

I was at Thorne Brothers last week for other purposes and mentioned folds on this site were pateiently waiting. They came back with the fact that they have an order of blanks from early last summer that has yet to arrive. As soon as it does they are planning on bulding rods 24×7 until they have caught up with the demand. I think most of the issue is with the suppliers and not Thorne Bros.

I ordered a quiverstick a week later than the noodle and just got it today!!!! I got an email saying “We are currently about 3 weeks out on our custom built rods.” If they are just 3 weeks out I would have had it by now!! Just come out and tell me “We don’t have blanks” it is that easy

Fine folks at Thorne are just as frustrated. they have not received the blanks they were expecting. You will get your orders as soon as they get their blanks. I know it’s hard to wait for them but you will have some of the best rods out for fishing.

I had a DH Al Dente Noodle built with REC guides,, it took
about a week. Very nice rod, the kick point is moved up
about an inch from the PNoodle other wise built on the same
specs. Also got a 30″ Quiverstick, as far as quality for fit
and finish they are very close. White blanks on the Al Dente
going fishing Thurs. will see how they work.
