Well, I am sure many of you have caught much bigger catfish, but this was a 27 incher I caught on Lake Oahe this past weekend. We were walleye fishing and suddenly I had a mark on the Vexilar about 4.5-5 foot off of the bottom. I reeled up to the mark and WHAMMY! The new Symetre 500 worked awesome and it was worth every penny! I am not going to lie, I was a bit dissapointed that it wasn’t my wall hanger walleye, but any personal best fish is a BLAST to catch!!

Nice fish! How deep were you fishing?

What Pug said…and what the gps numbers?!

I’ll chase them any day. The only thing a walleye has over a cat is they look man pretty in photos.

Had to be a blast I caught a channel like that this summer on a light bluegill rod and it was a battle way to go nice picture

Nice fish. I bet that was a battle. Once they pass 10lbs they get the ability to make another big long run when they see the boat or the ice hole.

nice channel. had to be a heckuva fight.

oahe is loaded with catfish. we used to wonder how many we could catch if we actually fished for them. used to catch quite a few wally fishin in the summer.

great pix, too. i think i know that spot.

That’s a really nice looking channel cat. Keep fishing that area and you might break your PB again.
