I called the hotel and told them I was a close, personal friend of Jesse’s and they wanted to pay me for staying there.

I’ve only fished the St Croix through the ice once and that was during the blizzard last december . Needless to say, I’m a St Croix ice rookie.

What types of lures/colors are the most productive there? I want to make sure I come prepared.

My favorite Croix set up is a demon or finkie jig with a med to small fathead

That’s kind of a bummer. I’ve got so many of them that they randomly turn up in the laundry, the change cup, hotdishes . . .

Now I don’t have a ‘legitimate’ excuse to tell the wife I need to go to Fleet Farm.

The GTG is one week away from today. Should I get 50 hot dogs ??? Anyone else planning on bringing anything ?

ECNOOK, can you help me out here, how did you usually work the food situation ?

Should we have an on ice pot luck or is everyone just going to bring their own eats ?

I thought you said you were going to tell your woman she had to cook?

She won’t have time to cook, she’ll have too many socks to iron and dishes to do

The pot luck after our little get together on pool 2 this fall went over pretty well. Had a couple of people bring grills and the rest brought a wide variety of eats.

We did brats on the grill… pre cooked brats are WAY easy !!!

Did your delivery guy back out ?

No, delivery guy did not back out there just has to be enough ice for them to drive on. If that’s the route everyone wants to go I’m game for ordering food. It’s much easier when someone else cooks it

Had 11″ of ice today and a consistent bite of 10-13″ crappies and white bass, a few more cold days/nights we’ll be driving out next weekend

    Sounds like name tag time!

Looks like the extended forecast is on our side Jesse!

With a little luck Curt will bring up his sausage as well.

    He’s not a bartender.

    AND he’s not from IA.

Jesse? Are we going to be driving out there this weekend.

How often are the GTG’s and where usually?

Usually the ice fishing GTG’s are once a year. Been in PDC a few times, last year was out on Petenwell.

So far all the ones I have attended proved to be a good time despite the bite or the weather.

If Dave wants to bring his grilling thong he got last year I have a medium sized gas grill I can bring, also a 2 burner stove and I’ll bring cowboy beans!

No, I’ll pass on the thong however I’m sure Millerman or onestout would like the thong honors. I’m not a good cook
