OK no need to get nasty.

It wasn’t meant to be nasty, sorry if it came across that way. I was just making a joke about a series of threads that were on the cat forum this past fall. It got pretty confusing to say the least.

This was taken right where this is happening.

Judging by the picture your a little South of where I was planning but then again I was also thinking Anderson Point or up river a little further……we’ll just have to see where the bite is good in a month.

Jeff, we’ll be fishing deep 24-40 FOW

Looking forward to meeting some new faces and seeing a few of the old

It’s not too confusing for a gtg.

If your from MN or WI get a license from the state you reside in.

If you’re from any other state, get a WI license.

It’s official, the 2011-2012 IDO unofficial ice-fishing Get-To-Gether will be SATURDAY JANUARY 21st starting at 7 am and ending at ??? in Hudson, WI.

From WI access the river HERE or if you are coming from MN you can access the river HERE. We will be meeting a mile or so up the river from the access’s which are almost straight across the river from one another, I’ll get GPS coordinates up as the date gets closer.

Here is a list of hotels in the Hudson area. The Royal Inn will probably be the cheapest in town.

Stay tuned more info to come

I just got done speaking with local establishment owner “Inn The Village” of North Hudson (Where the WI access is and my local waterin hole) and he is NOW, for us and anyone else that ice fishes the St.Croix River, offering ON ICE DELIVERY of BEER, PIZZA, BURGERS and whatever else you may need from a “Village Inn

He is also going to offer up happy hour prices to OUR group on January 21st if we choose that establishment for our after party, I will be working on getting burger or pizza specials once I get a rough estimate of how many people will make the GTG

Bring your fishing stuff and anything else you may want. A way good way to meet people is to attend a GTG

I’m hoping that the SBC celebrity Dean Marshall makes it on the ice for a few hours with us. Hopefully he’ll bring River Ramp Randy with him

I have my work cut out for me and I’m still working on it hoping I can pull this off.
I would love for my wife Marianne to make this event with me. I know she would have a good time even though she is not a winter fan. I’d love to bring her along so you could all give her your deepest sympathy for putting up with this meat head

Wish me luck as I give it my best shot!

In case anyone is wondering the plans for the GTG remain. There is ice on the river and people fishing it, I myself have not been out yet but am planning on checking it out this weekend. I have a feeling if we get 1 week worth of over night temps below 10* and day temps below 25* we’ll be driving on the river

After this weekend, Accuweather is predicting highs at best 10 degress above normal. With the normals being about 23 degrees for the first 3 weeks of January, that means it won’t get above freezing much. There should be plenty of ice by the time the GTG rolls around.

Took a drive down to the river last night. There was 2 perm shacks out and some wheeler traffic. I’m heading out to the river this morning to see how the bite is going

I just got off the ice and we had a decent 3 hours of fishing. A lot of crappies caught in the area we fished today with some gills and reports of sturgeon, saugers and mud puppies also being caught. About 6-8″ of good ice and with the cold weather ahead of us we should be driving on the Croix in a week or so.

    Looking forward to seeing everyone

    GOOD NEWS

I got the SUPER 8 in Hudson to give a 10%-15% discount depending on what type of room you book. Everyone needs to chime in and agree that will be the Hotel they are going to stay at.

I recommend the SUPER 8 over the Royal inn. When making reservations give them the code word and the discount will apply. PM me for code word.

Any other questions please feel free to get a hold of me.

This weekend on the St.Croix we had 6-8″ of decent ice. There were wheelers pulling perm shacks around out there.
