lookin for ice

hello Gang, I am asking for some help in locating ice. I live by Waterloo Ia. and looking to do some really good fishing the week after x-mas. Without giving up honey holes, can anyone recommend a great place to drop a line in southern minn were I can also find decent lodging?

If you want to try the WI side, Stoddard just south of Lacrosse. The Waters Edge Motel, been thinking about trying it.

Albert Lea area has some good panfish lakes with a few eyes and pike mixed in. Plenty of lodging in town. Only 8 miles over the IA border. Close enough to hit Clear Lake also.

thanks!! never even gave Albert Lea a thought! Are the lakes private or public? I am assuming I can locate them on my navionics map. thanks again.

Fountain lake is accessible about anywhere around the lake, Albert Lea Lake has 3 public landings.

I want to thank all of you have given ideas for where to go in Minn. A buddy and I are going to head to Spirit Lake over at Oki. If anyone has some helpfull hits for fishing that body, would be much appreciated.
