Guys i was out on lindstrom today fishing. Right after sundown a whole bunch of emergency crew showed up with all their sirens on. A man was signalling for them in the middle of the lake with a lamp. I assumed someone who had a atv went in. Guys please be careful. Ice is not that thick yet to be drivng atv fast.

Last line in the article…”A 71 year old man fell through the ice twice on Mille Lacs…” How do you fall through the ice “Twice”? …RR

I read on a different news site that he was on his atv and fell in. Got out, headed towards shore and fell through. Not his lucky day for sure…

wow after reading that article I now know who he is. he helped me pull my sled back to the parking lot right at dark. he than drove back out to the lake, his go-cart is not that heavy he was able to lift it and turn it around like it was very light. with that said the ice is not safe at all. put two or three guys together and you would probably weigh more than that go-cart. you know we all say clear ice is good ice, but when I was out there were many areas where the ice was honey combed due to the warm weather. so even though we have like 6 to 7 inch of ice its still not safe yet.

prayers go to him and hope he is fine now. be careful out there guys.
