I finally pulled the trigger and ordered one. I just got an email that they are waiting for blanks and it will be a 4 week wait at minimum.

Talked to Katie at TB Friday and I ordered mine Nov 28 and she said they should have it done in 10 days. They’re making them as fast as they can.

They have some blanks, just not yours. They only received a small amount of them. I ordered 2 more powernoodles mid September, hopefully I’m on the list to get them out of this batch.

So what about a Quiversticks. We ordered 2 at the show think we will get them before x-mas?

I love my Frabill panfish popper and Frabill alpine the most out of all of my ice fishing rods. My most expensive rods always take the back seat. Maybe I’d stand corrected but I have to have my doubts if this is really worth all the craze. I gotta hand it to IDO though, they know how to move product!

I talked to TB the 5th of December just after the ice show and they had somewhere over 600 custom rod orders from the show. They couldnt promise it to be done before Christmas but said they will do there best. They just cant make them fast enough. I think the wait is worth it, just my opinion.

Here is a response directly from our rod shop…

“Sorry about the delay, the blanks have been on order since June. There have been a couple of set-backs with the material and only a handful of blanks have actually shown up. We are filling orders in the order they came in by date. When our shipment of blanks arrives we will put them on top priority. We literally have hundreds of orders waiting on Power Noodles blanks so we’re waiting anxiously just like everyone. We really appreciate the patience and support on this situation. Thanks. TB Rod Shop.”

Please spread the word on this issue if the question is asked. Thanks.

    Cade:

Here’s a recent direct-quote from Marcum’s Customer service guy – who’s been a well-respected guide for a decade or two, and is unaffiliated with Thorne Brothers.

“There are 3 kinds of ice rods out there. Cheaper entry level rods, Thorne Bros. rods, and Thorne Bros. knock-offs.”

I’m a value-minded angler like anyone else, and can appreciate there being different price-points, styles, levels of quality to fit a wide array of applications and needs. The TB rods are for folks that want the best there is, and have exacting specifications/bites/applications that only a custom rod can satisfy. I’ve met no one who has tried them that disagrees to that point.
