I had a vex and then someone broke into my big house in the front yard and stold it. It was new…… I loved it the 2 times I used it…. I switch to the LX-5 becuas ei got a better deal. I hope I did the right thing.

Followed your link to the Marcum site and got a blank page. Went to the site without using the link and got the same thing. Anyone else have a problem?

The link works fine for me. You might need to update Adobe.

I think they assume you have a computer because you need to be able to download the updates.

Sooner or later this whole interweb fade is going to die.

Whether it’s ice sonar, open water sonar/gps or these darn computers…downloadable updates are here to stay.

Beats buying new every six months…or what some have to do, run with old technology.

Who doesn’t have access to a computer through a friend or a library?

It’s fine if people want to stay with their Vex for whatever reason, but poking at advances in technology is, well, laughable.

Sweeeeeeet unit! Everything so simple to understand, except the target setting but I will get used to that soon, and use. Go through the unit once or twice in simulation mode and man you can use that thing anywhere. I may just stay with the vertical and graph and not even use the flasher screen any longer. Man you would love this if you have any kid in you for gadgets at all. The fixed ranges or auto and auto lock bottom zoom all rock on variable lake bottoms. However, this gives you the full control over everything you could want in a unit like this. The only thing that took me by surprise was the size of it. Just like using my VS825SD instead of the LX-5 for size but that is not a bad thing just was not sure of size initially. If they were able to build in the same robustness of the LX-5 into a digital, this will last for a very long time.
