Marcum Ice Troller for your deadstick?

I’ve used the Marcum Ice troller in the fashion it has been promoted over the last couple seasons. Frankly it has performed as advertised. Light and efficient sonar for the angler covering lots of ice or even while drilling holes recording data. Still I was wondering if anyone has used it in the deadstick hole. Seems a guy might gain further use out of this unit by doing so. We all agree Ice Sonar flat out helps guys catch more fish. A fisherman is scoffed at if he is caught fishing without a flasher these days. we cleary realize there is a triggering factor that greatly enhances catch rates now. SO…..even corking or deadsticking can be enhanced greatly with a slight twitch or pull away at just the right time in theory. Just a thought and wondering if guys might already be employing this? BTW I’m considering this add to get further production from the deadstick. Heck we get 2 sticks in Minnesota. No reason we shouldn’t try improve results on the deadstick right?

The Troller was my go to unit most of last winter. I made myself leave the flasher home. By doing so it was used almost exclusivly. By makeing up a base platform and adding a small 3amp battery and a case to house it in it is all i needed. Several others picked up the mount from me and also liked it.

What do you guys think about having a ice sonar that could run two transducers with the sonar info displaying “split screen” on the monitor? No need for a second unit… just a second transducer for the second hole. IR control, sensitivity, and zoom controls would be separate for each transducer and would be controlled by the “master” head unit. It would make monitoring that second hole very easy and convenient.

    Just a thought.

That’s a very good idea. The display of Marcum LX-7 should have enough room for split screens. Maybe Marcum Engineers can add a port to it for the second tranducer? Better yet, with the LCD the same as that of 825SD, if they can make the 825sd camera head an option for the LX-7, and some GPS mapping. It’ll be my ultimate ice fishing machine. Maybe I am too greedy?

Dependingon depth and distance apart you can fish 2 lines with the the same xducer. Drill 3 holes like 12in. between and put the xducer in the middle one.
