Yesterday I had 1″ on Cow’s bay on Prior Lake, so decided to give it a day or two still. The channel running inbetween upper and lower prior is nearly locked up, chipped myself out a couple holes about 50yds from open water last night. Think I had about 1 1/2″ and 2 1/2″ in most spots. Still pretty sketchy in the metro area, especially on any lakes deeper than 30fow. Another day or two and everything should be walkable

Any suggestions on a place to go in the Metro that has the thickest ice? I really don’t care where, I just want to get out and do some fishing. I usually go to Prior but I’ve heard that it isn’t ready.

Just wait is probably your best bet for the metro area. At least until this weekend.
