I just put my new otter pro cabin together. I was wondering who all made rod holders that mount to your shanty? I did not find much other than otter rod holders. If you can help me with what you guys like and maybe opinions possibly pictures that would help alot. Thanks to all

Just installed two last night, so I’m in the same boat.
They seem pretty slick though, can’t wait to use.

What I did was took the fish on flush mount rod holders and put them in the on. All you need is a hole saw and a couple screws.

I’ve tried some other rod holders in my otter and they all seem to do the job but the actual Otter Rod holder works great and the house is already set up to accept the holder. Works slick. I use mine to hold the deadstick rod quite a bit and the adjustability of the holder arm allows me to get the rod tip centered over the hole which is important to me.

I see they changed the color on them for this year to black. I have the older yellow ones but the design and materials are the same.

Very nice. I did not know that. Being able to tighten the elbows is a nice improvement.

The question now is drill out the yellows or just buy new blacks? I think I’m plenty drill capable and the mod sounds easy enough.

Actually the black models are constructed a bit better! The new ones have nylon spacer washers w/ nuts and bolts holding them together, giving the owner the opportunity to re-tighten them as needed. The old yellow ones, at least the ones I have, were simply riveted together. I’ve since replaced all the rivets in my yellows because they became too loose with thumb screws, nylon washers and a rubber o-ring. They now can be set in position rather securely.

Very cool idea. Have replaced more yellows one than I care to admit.
