Marcum VX1 Pro

Really only $299.00?? What gives? I’ve used my VX1 Pro on our early season scouting missions now for the last few days, and frankly that is one great flasher. It’s easy as turn it on and watch for fish. I think I’m going to pick up another VX1 to place on my deadstick hole. Normally my extra flashers go with customers, so I haven’t spent countless hours staring at one until lately. Sure the LX3,5 and now 7 offer more to the advanced angler, but the bright display, zoom and crisp target markings is quite impressive. Here is the way I factor value. I have roughly $300.00 sheckles in my VX1 pros. I’ve got 3 years of use out of them. Meaning my cost of use is now $100.00 a year for the use of that flasher. The VX1 stil of course works fine and holds value. I don’t know what I can get for it, but would say $175.00 would be pretty reasonable. So….$125.00 for 3 years of use of a flasher; A little over $40.00 a year!? Great Job Marcum!! That is laying down serious VALUE.

This pic is kind of funny; As I peered through my camera to try focus the pic…… a Walleye appeared on my spoon. I nearly dropped my camera. It was crazy how keyed into a flasher we become. I’m looking through my camera and watching to see if a fish is on the screen.

The VX-1 sold like mad at the show this past weekend. I think people are catching on to the value and performance of this unit…

The next question, and the one that really matters is, did you catch the fish eyeballing your spoon?!

Honestly as a full time fishing guide I tend to look towards every advantage I can possibly get my hands on when it comes to both comfort and technology. I am pulling my hair out waiting for the “7” to be carried up the hill by the man in brown; I envision the “Christmas Story” style of delivery……F R A G I L E…..Who knows it could be a whole Bowling Alley!! LOL!! Still the VX1Pro is a really a great flasher. Marcum put a lot of value into that unit. Again….every angler that wants to further enjoy time on the ice should own Ice Sonar, and yes you’ll catch more fish.

That would be a negative Batman. I do believe the walleye nipped at the spoon while I was fumbling my camera. I’ve lost one camera withing the year, and Cbear says that is enough. I distinctly remember muttering “MORON” as teh fish swam away :doah

I am sure I will get ripped apart by the Vex guys, but the VX-1 is a better unit then the fl-18 in my opinion, and at a better price to. This was the first flasher that I personally bought, I think it was 6 years ago when the price was $199 new. I had used or borrowed my dads Vexlair up until then, and the target separation, power, and battery life is way better on my marcum.

The product specs of ice sonar speak for themselves as they do in the open water arena. SHOW ME the specs helps eliminate opinion. Still with more and more guys seeing red; The real light bulb turns on as anglers turn the dial ON while spending a day staring down a Marcum flasher. Ice fisherman enjoy the crisp target display featured within the Marcum product line, and seldom care if others fish by them.

Right On well said! I have a hand full of the VX1P’s and that I use, they are great all around units that I use on most to all my trips. I had my older vx1 out the other day for my first ice trip. Im going to case the flasher when Im put it up for good, I have put it through everything and yet it works like a champ!

I have always relied on hit and miss knowledge of the water I fished in the past. With using the marcum in conjuction with knowledge, it gives you a whole new world of options. With that bieng siad, I bielive the ease of use and power for the money is unrivieled. Hope to get a marcum troller to use this year, Looks just the ticket for chasing giils crappie and perch. Be safe on the ice and may the fish be with you.
