Marcum LX3 question

I have a 4 year old LX3 that I would like to sell. I’m not sure what it is worth. What is a fair price. It has a new battery this fall, a backup that is good. I put a new ducer on it two years ago. It has the case and runs great. In looking online, I see a pretty wide swath of prices. Any thoughts?

Unless you need the cash I would keep it. I’ve taken plenty of friends out that didn’t have a flasher and if they arn’t catching much it seems they always peek over your shorlder and quit fishing. Kids especialy like to watch the screen and fishing with 2 lines in the hole or eventualy without a flasher is frustrating at least for me.

    just my 2 cents

I wish I could do that. It serves me well, but the LX5’s are pretty nice. The more I think about it, I might as well just stick with what I’ve got.

At this point its only saving you money. No NEED for new, so why drop the cash

True. There is a difference between saving money and just spending less.

The wife and I are still running Lx-3s and catch just as many fish as those running 5s so good choice sticking with it. In a couple years when PJ gets old enough to understand a flasher I’ll probably get a new one and he will use one of the 3s we have now.

I’ve been running the same vex 18 for about 15 years. I love the new stuff but I regularly show my friends who are running newer stuff how it is done. My twins are 6 and when they are old enough I will probably get them each a flasher. I’m trying to avoid getting two in one year. Based on what my experiences show I will be getting used LX5s eventually. Probably from some of you guys who can afford the latest stuff.

After half an hour, my 5 year old son was asking how much line to let out based on the FL20 he had in front of him.

His dad was relegated to using the spare FL8.

Fast forward to this year… FL8 was sold and a 2nd FL20 added to the fleet. If my other son tags along, he can use the spare LX5.

Keep it,you will never know when you need a spare.I now use my LX3tc on my boat,to pinch-hit for my not-so reliable 332c .
