Just wondering if anyone up in the Mille Lacs area could give me a little update on the ice situation. I’m stuck in St. Paul for work but want to get up there asap to drop the first line of the season. I know it’s not near ready to walk on, but when does everyone anticipate being able to walk and when do people feel it’ll be good enough to drive on?

Thanks for the info, I’m just trying to get my timeline down for future weekends.

From what I’ve been told the bays are froze over and the main lake is wide open

Took the boat out north of garrison today, hardly any ice on shore there. Big pile of ice at malmo access ramp and out roughly 50yds on each side. Big loose chunks floating along 18 from wealthwood east. water temp was around 32.6, supposed to be windy next couple days though

which one of these would give me an idea of what’s happening at appledorns? as got a report from them that there is a skim of ice and about 3 to 5 feet out for ice this morning.
