Is this the same ~H2O~ that once said on FTR that he’d never drill a hole when P4 was open all winter? (wish I could find that exact post… ) Welcome to the dark side

I will be staying close to home and fishing Little Bay de noc after dark into next week. When the ice comes on the inland lakes I will chase some panfish first.

I do remember saying that. What can I say, I get bored easily.

Pool 4 for me is my first fishing “home” but I tend to fish there less and less. I’m averaging 1 – 2 times a year the last 3 years. I am however having the time of my life exploring new fisheries and taking the time to add new techniques to my bag of tricks.

The real inside scoop would be that I ice fished like mad before I became a river guy. I remember just about wearing out an Old Clearwater Classic flasher back in my twenties before I got the river bug.

I wonder what ever came of that Clearwater?? Sold it to some “old” guy here on the site some years back.

Not me! I still have to gear up. I was holding off for the little lady to get a new job. Well she started a new one today. Time to go over the budget.

Hasn’t been used for a long time now. Fishing Machine has it. If I remember to, I’ll dig it out. Will make quite a collection for me. A Clear water Classic, a Marcumm, and 2 Vexilars.

Now you just need to actually go ice fishing.

James, I still have a mint condition Clearwater Classic, if you are interested in purchasing back some of your nostalgia. I’m sure I will keep my LX5 though.

Water temperature is still 45 here and the highs for this week is going to be in the mid 40s til Friday. Maybe 4 more weeks and we might have water to walk on. But then again who really know for sure down here.

I’m ready for ice…oh wait, it doesn’t matter, there’ll be plenty by the time I’m home. I still go by the standard, if its warm out(for winter) I’m goin to the river, if its going to be 10 degrees and windy I’m goin ice fishin. Hasn’t let me down yet. My buddies do get a little annoyed when I tell them we’re goin fishin tomorrow and they ask where and I say don’t know for sure yet, we’ll see.
Speaking of, I should pick up a new rod for this year…something custom, like a 36″ quiverstick…time to head back to the thorne brothers website and look around some more.
