Ok so I do a lot of hole hopping like I am sure a good percentage of u do! I just got some of the under armor base layer 2.5 underwear. Now I am wondering what I should do for a second layer? I want to stay away from cotton, from what I hear it holds moisture in. My top layer is a frabil sno suit so if anyone could help me or enlighten me with what works for you it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would not worry about cotton as a second layer, if your sweating that much to get that layer wet you have way too much on. Cotton breaths well and that’s what you want above the base layer.

I usually just wear jeans or sweat pants and a turtle neck over my base layer and then my outer wear.

I too will often wear cotton as a second layer. Fleece is another good option too. -Mark

One of my three jobs is at a running store. All the clothes we sell wick away sweat with the best of em. I will often have on a 3/4 zip medium heavy weight shirt over a moisture wicking under shirt. So if you have a running store nearby, stop in because all the clothing they will have will be what your looking for.

One of the nice features about the snosuit is not having to layer. You put to many warm clothes on under it and you will be inn for a very hot day.

I usually wear just my regular jeans and t shirt or maybe a long sleeve t shirt. On that its a nice fleece hoodie, my snosuit bibs and many times my cabelas guide ware rain coat. That is to cut the wind. Its not to often my snosuit jacket sees much action. Well other than lending it to someone else that is cold.

I usually go with the base layer like you said then some sort of t shirt or long sleeve shirt, sweat shirt and then the suit. I also have a baselayer then sweat pants then my bibs.

Being that you are wearing the snosuit my second layer on top would be like a 1/4 zip UA. Not a fleece but the polyester ones. Polyester is lightweight and great for wicking sweat. For bottoms I would either wear nothing or pajama pants, nothing very warm.

I agree with MikeW. Prior to SnoSuit, I was layering with UA cold gear top and bottom, jeans, then Cabelas Guidewear bibs. On top it was the UA cold gear long sleeve, then long sleeve T shirt followed by a hoodie, then Cabelas Guidewear jacket if needed.

Now its just Jeans then SnoSuit bibs, followed by a Long sleeve Tshirt, hoodie, then if needed SnoSuit Jacket. The SnoSuit has cut out the need for the UA in my opinion. I tried it once and had the sweats so bad after one day of ice fishing, never again will I wear UA cold gear and SnoSuit at the same time.
