I just got a brand new showdown 5.6 dual beam, and in testing it at home a line shows up from the sonar that raises and lowers as your lift and drop the transducer. But, it doesnt show the bottom/floor or react with my hand under the transducer. how do fish show up if my hand wont?

I’m pretty sure the ducer has to be in water.

I’m not entirely sure, but maybe you’re too close to the transducer?

Not an effective way to check a flasher. Drop the puck in the water and you’ll be golden. We’re all getting antsy.

The 5.6 is a great unit I am happy with the couple I have.

Didn’t I hear rumor that BrianK dropped the transducer in his toilet once, then flushed a trout I think he said he lost it once it got to around 300 feet away Just kidding

I think you are going to enjoy your Showdown
You have to come the right place to ask any questions you might have with your 5.6
