Yes, it’s the warmest, most durable suit there is by a long shot. One of my best purchases for sure.
October 30, 2011 at 12:38 pm #1005180Not to make your decision harder take a look at artic armor its the warmest set of clothes I have its not bulky at all and if you are un lucky and go through you will float with this suit on. I love it.

If you can afford it, SnoSuit is the way to go ,but I have the Ice Armour and it works and fits my needs very well.
It all depends on how you ice fish the most , if you are outside alot go with the SnoSuit if not I would go with the Ice Armour.
It all depends on your needs and wallet size
October 30, 2011 at 12:39 pm #1005182Heck yes it is worth it. If I have said it once I have said it a hundred times “My only regret to purchasing my Snosuit is that I waited so long to buy it.”
October 30, 2011 at 12:46 pm #1005185I like my ice armor because I can put on shorts and a t shirt and wear it as rain gear all year if its not too warm out. You definatly need to dress a little warmer for ice fishing. There isnt alot of insulation in the jacket, especially the shoulders.
October 30, 2011 at 12:59 pm #1005193I have owned the Ice Armor and Arctic Armor and now the snosuit.
The sno Suit is the warmest and the other 2 are not even in the same ball park. Last year I sold 2 of my suits as I doubt that I will ever wear them again. yes, they worked and were well built and designed but they do not have the warmth of the Sno Suit.
Simply an awesome suit for the cold outdoors.
I always use my Artic Armor on early ice just for the floatation advantage just in case I fall through.
October 30, 2011 at 3:04 pm #984894Snowsuit is certainly warm and heavy. I question the durability though. I found a tear in the knee shortly after I bought my bibs and have no idea how it got there. I certainly would have remembered if I caught it on something.
Worth the price? Maybe . If if I don’t find any more tears anytime soon. I’d buy them again for the warmth and how well they fit.

If there’s even the slightest chance that you didn’t catch your knee on something I’d give Snosuit / Frabill a call and see if there’s a warranty remedy available. They’ve been very good about fixing issues that fall under warranty.
As for Snosuit durability… they’ve been amazing in that regarding in my opinion. I have however cut them. A Strikemaster auger blade to the inside of the lower leg did the damage. I’m convinced to this day that if I’d been wearing anything else I would have been headed to the ER for stitches versus being ticked off at myself for being so careless.

Me too.
The only time I don’t wear the SnoSuit is on early, thin ice. I use the Mustang Survival Suit for those conditions.
October 31, 2011 at 7:19 pm #1005513I almost pulled the trigger on Arctic Armour last year but the distributor I talked to admitted it does not breath well which is the biggest complaint he hears. Warm and floats but expect to sweat sometimes.

Dropping your coat on the heater WILL burn the inside of your coat though. Apparently I figured I’d be leaving my Snosuit out by not giving that the initiating Mr Heater Burn.

What the heck do you need a heater for if you have a SnoSuit ON?

Snosuit won’t keep holes from freezing over. Beyond that as stated Snosuit jacket was not ON. It was hanging from the internal frame of my Otter and slipped off onto the heater head.
loren_keizerPosts: 113November 3, 2011 at 10:17 am #1006235I can only echo what the rest of the guys here have said about the SNOsuit. It’s a great suit, the best one available in my opinion. If you enjoy fishing open ice, you will enjoy it more with the SNOsuit.
As for the person with the tear in the knee. Follow what James said and give the Frabill Customer Service team a call.
bromanPosts: 235November 3, 2011 at 3:56 pm #1006327If I had the money to burn I would buy the snosuit. But, I am a happy Clam Ice Armor X owner and like my suit alot. I almost always fish outside in the elements and it keeps me plenty warm and dry. I sit on my knees when I fish and the padding on the suit works well. Even the but has padding.
