Almost A Record 3 lb. Crappie/Pics

    I came close to the Maine state record this morning. It was chilly fishing and slower than Monday. My partnes says it a lot like ice fishing slow and finiky. I had my ice jigs with me so i got them out and tied on a 1 1/64 oz. jig with a green ratso. First drop and the Vex goes RED. Fish on and its a 17in. 3ib. monster. My PB. It is now at the Taxi. shop. We have some vid i will post later.

    A guy could use a paddletail to catch slabs like that.. Wow nice fish, congrats.

    That it one fine Slab. I’m still looking for my first 16 +, came close a few times but have never made it.

    Back in the late 70’s I caught a 17 1/2″ by accident (as is usual for me )
    I did as I usually did back in those days….I put her to the knife

    I regret that decision to this day
