Ice out dates??

    I hate to sound like such a newbie, but what exactly are ice out days/ times?
    Trying to learn.

    Ice out dates refer to the timeframe in which a lake rids the winter sheet of ice giving way to open water.

    First ice as to ice fishing typically references the first few inches of ice that can safely hold anglers.

    These are the days of the “official” ice out…

    Or when the ice on a specific body of water if officially gone and boats can operate on it.
