Who’s Ready For Some Ice?

Guys, this summer thing is getting on my nerves. I got my slug gun sighted in and am waiting to fill the freezer, but after that, I’m ready for the COLD!!! As a bigger guy, sitting on a bucket in 10 below weather is more appealing to me than heat. Just wishing mother nature would hurry up with this summer, we got more important things to do. But, with the coming of Big 10 football, the fall always goes pretty quick!

I agree, it’s time to put this Sally weather to bed and have Mother Nature bring it on

And I’m not a real big guy either

By the way I’m impatiently awaiting December 1st, usually about 2-3″ of good ice by then

Steve? Let’s be serious for just a minute here.

I know many that put the rod away for hunting in the fall and I’m very very ok with that.

My questions is, how can we get more of the tuna boat guys to take up hunting? Then we can have ice.

Took me longer than a minute to type that second line.

For as good as the Bass & Panfish bite is now, I can patiently wait for the ward water…

Ice to fish on would be great, ice in my shorts today would have been just as welcome to cool me off. The heat has been hell down here this year and a lot worse south of us.

I am ready bring on the ice.

Me too. My clan must have been migratory. Also my frame isn’t well suited for winter…and my wife’s cooking don’t help.

    Settle on back boys!

I’ve got soft water trips planned for Mille Lacs (Sept), Lake of the Woods (last of Oct) and British Columbia (yet to be determined), still planned yet this year!

That’s usually when I’m in the woods chasin’ tail. Whitetail, to be specific. Wait, deer to be even more specific.

The change of seasons is truly the beauty of being a sportsman here in the upper midwest. Regardless of how great summer fishing has been I always crave fall fishing for pigs. Then frankly another true passion of mine comes to fruition as I’m able to lace up my boots and head to the woods in our off season. Still dropping the new LX7 from Marcum down an 8 inch hole will be here before we know it!! The hype of the 2011/2012 ice fishing season is going to get cranked up soon!! BRING IT!!

I can’t wait for first ice. I hope to make it to Minnesota for my first time in the winter for some crappies and bluegills this year.

That is going to be a great moment Chris!

These cooler nights are starting to get me excited for some ice as well. Some good Fall fishing is in store though and hate to pass that up! Won’t be long guys!
