Anyone heading to blaine for the ice show this weekend? Never been to this one, I have been to St. Paul. Is this one anything like that one? Thanks

I predict within a few more years this show will top the St Paul Show.

I didn’t make it last year so it might have already.

The parking is right out front, free and much less traffic. Did I mention FREE?

I’m trying to free up Saturday morning to swing in for a little while but not sure of my wheel situation yet. Even a cat guy gets an itch for all the new ice gear out there. )

I don’t think the Blaine expo will top the St.Paul one any time soon. just because the The space is very limited. But its a good time to go look at some of the latest and greatest. Also you’re able to set up some trips before they get booked up before the season starts. I’ve also scored some good deals on last years inventory items that are on sale / clearance.

“Interesting they schedule during gun deer season”….

Everyone knows there are no deer to shoot so why not go to a show? I’ll be near Blaine today. Tomorrow I am smoking venison jerky so I can’t make it then either. Sunday I am watching football and eating fresh jerky. Enjoy the show.

I’ll be going today. Been there the last two years. Space has been limited but they’ve expanded into the other building now.

I actually am looking forward to this one more than St Paul (and I live 5 minutes from St Paul). The logistics are far easier. My guess is this one will surpass St Paul in square feet of displays sooner than later.

Went to the show in Blaine today. Yes, they sure did have a second building. They did not utilize the additional space. I was there from 11-1. Bad idea. The show setup was hilarious. It felt like a block party that took place in a two bedroom apartment.

We were there yesterday as well. We got there at 10:30 and as stated a little UN-organized. When a show advertises 100% fishing they should keep their word and not allow massages, and home re modelers.

I did get a good deal on a new Ion from Thorne. Those guys rock!

I went yesterday pretty disappointing. This has along way to go if it is going to surpass the st. paul show….. Some good deals to be had Kruger Farms has great deals on Marcums and Vexilars.. LX7 was $630 cheapest I have seen in 2 years. Thorne bros had some good deals and so did Ice castle, bought rod holder for the fish house @ 10 a pc. Make sure to look around first then buy someone always has it cheaper, whether at the show, in-store, or internet. Know what you are looking for and come prepared, u will find some deals

As long as it remains sponsored by a designated company (Clam), it limits the competition from other companies in the industry.
I have nothing against Clam, but the reason The St. Paul ice is successful is the many choices a consumer has at that show.

I have to agree with most of the posts above… Kind of a Gong Show! Not real organized and all crammed into a small building. But hey – I got to park for free. Save your money for St. Paul.

May be true, but the Ice Force/Marcum/Otter display was the First thing you see when you enter the event. Probably 2nd biggest chunk of real estate at the show behind Clam. Not like its all Clam.

Clam had Dave Genz and Ice Force had Tom Neustrom. Both “celebs” very accessible to meet and shake hands with.

Something to do on a Saturday morning. Saw some interesting things. I would say if you are in the market for a wheelhouse, go on over and check it out. No need to buy a ticket. 95% of the wheelhouses are in the parking lot.

I went to the show on Friday. In regards to the Clam comments, Ice Force(not clam) had a nice display right by the door. Frabil was there too. I have been to both shows. I hate crowds and rarely ever buy anything at the shows so I really enjoyed going there on Friday. I also enjoyed going through all of the wheelhouses.

Agreed with above. Got to yack with Brad Hawthorne for a while and my buddy picked up an Otter 1200 for a song. Definitely didn’t improve YOY like I thought it would but still had a blast. See you in St Paul.

I went and the deals were ok. One thing that upset me was that I bought a pony spool of Pline Fluoroice for about $5.50 at the Thorne Broa booth. Well a couple buddies and I went to the Joes Sporting Goods store afterwards and they are selling them on the shelf for less that $5! I buy a lot of stuff but from TB but am afraid they jack up the price on some of their stuff…
